Architecture

Architecture is a complex area, and it has grown in over the years as more IT systems have been adopted to support the organisation. Some of these systems have been in-house; others outsourced or on the cloud.

It is important to know what you have now, and what you want to have in place at the end of your projects in order to build a realistic project scope and plan which is deliverable to the expected time and cost.

In larger organisation there will be a team in place which builds and maintains the Enterprise Architecture.  However this is not a feasible option within a mid-size organisation.

Therefore there needs to be a pragmatic approach taken, which assesses at an appropriate level of detail:
  • Business Architecture - business strategy, governance, organisation and key business processes
  • Applications Architecture - key IT systems, their interactions between each other, and their relationships to the business processes
  • Data/Information Architecture - how and where is all the key business information stored logically and physically
  • Technical Architecture - what hardware, software and networks need to be in place
Rugby Consulting can help you gain a pragmatic view on this gain through practical experience in small and medium sized companies.

We can then help you use this to build this into a plan of action which is integrated into your projects, reducing the time and cost to implement.
